Portuguese national team star Bernardo Silva made remarks to the press after the 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic in the first round of the Euro 2024 group stage.

Silva said after the match, "Matches in these tournaments are never easy. We played against a team that caused us a lot of difficulties."

He added, "They played with a low defense and a lot of flexibility, and we didn’t have many players in the opponent’s penalty area, which we lacked in the first half. Conceição, Jota, and Neto provided that for us, so we are very happy with the team and the three points."

He continued, "We came here with the goal of winning. We are very excited to top the group. Now we have a long road ahead."

When asked about the Czech Republic's chances of securing points against Turkey or Georgia, Silva concluded, "I have no idea, but I leave here with the impression that the Czech team is strong and can pose problems for many teams."
