Arrest of Former President of the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales

According to a Spanish newspaper report tonight, local authorities have successfully apprehended Luis Rubiales, the former president of the Spanish Football Federation.

The Spanish newspaper "EL MUNDO" stated that Rubiales was arrested at Madrid-Barajas Airport upon his return from the Dominican Republic.

The newspaper added: "Rubiales is being investigated on charges of corruption in business, unfair administration, money laundering, and involvement in a criminal organization."

Rubiales was previously dismissed from the presidency of the Spanish Football Federation following his involvement with Spanish national team player Jenny Hermoso.

Rubiales had kissed Hermoso without her consent following the Women's World Cup final last August.
